While there are some women who choose to augment their breasts to look like the Playboy Bunnies in the magazine, most women aren’t seeking perfection or huge knockers. In most cases, the reasoning for breast implants is less dramatic than most realize. The majority of women in their 30s seek these procedures though younger women from ages 13 to 19 make up a few thousand. Those in their 20s and some in their 40s and 50s will want the process but the majority of augmentations are done for women from 30 to 39 years of age.

These women have gone through childbirth and yo-yo diets and are left with deflated, saggy breasts. They are usually seeking to get their breasts back to what they were before life hit them and are interested in original size and shape. This is especially true for women who breast-fed their children and now want to have the same shape as before child-bearing years.

Why Saggy Breasts

Everyone knows that gravity does its thing and pulls the breasts downward, which is why women without children also have a little sag. However, most people don’t understand that the breasts don’t have muscle. They are made of fatty tissue, so when you gain or lose weight, you gain and lose it in the chest area, as well. Just as you may notice sagging skin in the face and other parts of the body after major weight loss, so you’ll notice it in the chest area.

Other Options

An implant may not be the augmentation procedure of choice for many women because it may not do enough. Breast implants can help the size and shape of your breasts, but reconstruction may be necessary if you have misshapen breasts, which are relatively common. If you are looking for the most natural look possible, your surgeon is likely to recommend both an implant and reconstruction surgery to achieve that look.

After Child-Bearing Only?

A common misconception is that you have to wait until you’re finished having kids before you can augment the chest area. While some surgeons will recommend waiting, you can still have children and breastfeed with an implant.

Most women do not opt for plastic surgery to get larger breasts though some do. In most cases, they want to change the breasts’ appearance because of childbirth, proportionality problems and others.
