Divide tasks into ‘urgent – must be done today’, ‘important – can wait until tomorrow’ and ‘not so important – no fixed deadline’.  The only things you need to complete today are your urgent tasks, leaving you with free time to spend as you see fit.  Of course, if you don’t have anything scheduled – the kids are at school and your partner is at work – you could spend the rest of your day completing some of the important tasks on your list.  But if you’re feeling stressed, regain some balance by taking the afternoon off for yourself – have a coffee at the park, an aromatherapy massage, or go for a run.  You could even treat yourself to a spot of retail therapy!
